Shane Sasnow
Shane is the founder of The Art of Forward Motion (taofm.com). He practices as a facilitator, consultant, trainer, and presenter specializing in creativity, problem solving, and innovation. His framework for facilitation and training centers around Creative Problem Solving with a focus on group dynamics, people-centered, consensus building conversation.
Shane’s previous experience includes work as a musician, a songwriter, a private music teacher, a graphic designer, and 2 years training as a cadet with the Seattle Fire Department. He has a diverse cultural background and an appreciation for diversity from living, working, and traveling abroad.
Shane’s education includes a Masters degree in Creativity, Problem Solving, and Change Leadership from the State University New York College at Buffalo, a self-designed bachelors degree in Creative Process (focused on psychology and philosophy as they apply to compositional techniques such as music, art, writing, design, and computer media) from the University of Washington, a Associates degree and a Vocational Associates degree in Interactive Multimedia with a specialization in digital audio from Shoreline Community College in Seattle. He also spent a year at Berklee College of music in Boston.
Shane is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, the Portland Leadership Forum, Portland Toast Masters, the Creative Studies Alumni Network, Strawberry Neurons Forever, the Creative Education Foundation, and the American Creativity Association. |
